Ahoy! My name is Evan. I'm a lifelong academic with dual interests in speech pathology and music education. Outside of academia, I spend my free time dabbling in hobbyist art, bouldering, or spending time with my dogs. I was born in California, grew up in New York, and am currently living in Hawai'i.

Evan P. Montemayor, M.S.Ed. (he/him/his) is a Filipino-American speech pathologist and music educator from Sacramento, CA. He is currently a clinical fellow at two skilled rehabilitation facilities on the east side of Hawai'i island. He has worn many professional hats, from adjunct instructor of music at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY to character performer at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.

Evan holds an M.S.Ed. in music education and an M.A. in speech-language pathology from Hofstra University. He is earning an M.M. in choral conducting from California State University, Los Angeles.

Evan's research and teaching interests include gender-diverse voice and communication therapy, counseling elderly patients and caregivers in the remediation of swallowing disorders, and poetic analysis in the choral medium. He has presented research for professional conferences at the local, state, regional, and national levels as an individual, panelist, and invited discussant.

Evan is co-chair of the New York American Choral Directors' Association (NY-ACDA) Repertoire & Resources Committee and past treasurer of the Hofstra University graduate-level chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA). He is an active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA).
