Ahoy there! My name is Evan Montemayor (pronounced /mon.t̪e.mɑˈjɔːɹ/). I'm a lifelong academic with a keen interest in music and language. I currently live and work in east Hawai'i with a menagerie of chickens, ducks, fish, and one very happy dog.
Outside of work, I moonlight as an amateur aquarist, boulderer, and avid consumer of poetry. I'm known to get motion sickness while standing upright. I once convinced hundreds of students at my alma mater to scream at the exact same time.

Evan P. Montemayor, M.A./M.S.Ed., CCC-SLP is a Filipino-American speech pathologist and music educator from Sacramento, CA. He has worn a variety of professional hats, from adjunct instructor of music at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY to character performer at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.

He holds state licensure as a speech-language pathologist in Hawai'i, as well as his Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). His primary instrument is piano.

Evan's research and teaching interests include neurodiversity-affirming music teacher education, collaborative piano skills for choral directors, and gender-diverse voice/communication therapy. He has presented research for professional conferences at the local, state, regional, and national levels as an individual, panelist, and invited discussant.

Evan is past co-chair of the New York American Choral Directors' Association (NY-ACDA) Repertoire & Resources Committee and past treasurer of the Hofstra University graduate chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA). He is an active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA).
